The Byzantium Experience! Fine Dining, exotic surroundings, regular live entertainment and licenced until 2 a.m. Come and enjoy the best in the west! Founded in Bristol in 1998, Byzantium Restaurant takes its name from the ancient capital of the Eastern Roman Empire, which flourished for a thousand years.As you enter the antique double doors you are greeted by opulent, warm colours with relaxed cushioned seating around the marble dance floor, itself at the centre of the pillared atrium. At the far end of the room is a grand marble staircase that winds around a pillar to the magnificent first floor dining room with views across to St. Mary Redcliffe church. On the other side of the room is the glass fronted kitchen allowing views of our master chefs at work and to the side is a hallway leading to the private dining room, perfect for intimate parties of up to 24 people. For over a decade we have planned and hosted thousands of parties and corporate events and many hundreds of weddings. From initial conversation to final farewell, our dedicated events manager and team strive to ensure that all your requirements are fulfilled with minimum hassle and maximum enjoyment. We have a range of menus based on modern European recipes with a Mediterranean bias using the best of local and regional produce and taking account of seasonal variation and availability. Our dessert lanterns each provide six different portions and tastes to complement a full range of main courses, always including at least two vegetarian options. We now also provide plated starters for those who prefer a more traditional menu. After dining on fine food, complemented by our wide range of quality wines from the new and old worlds, we offer a variety of entertainment possibilities. Specialist DJs with a comprehensive choice of different music are a standard option and in addition you may choose from belly dancers, magicians and even circus skills specialists, who can continue to entertain you until 2 a.m. with our full late licence. As Venue magazine stated in their recent issue: 'Byzantium is indeed extravagantly hedonistic: a non-stop cabaret combining decadent new romanticism with people-pleasing, wallet-friendly menus.'
